Major Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the past few days, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area endured significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes come after evenings of air raids in the area, portions of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
